Troop 2059 at Camp Winona Girl Scout camporee.

Our Girl Scout troop enjoyed Spring Camporee in De Leon Springs, FL. Camporee theme was 60s so we all wore groovy accessories like sunglasses and flower headbands. While we were there, we built a cardboard boat and raced it with a Girl Scout inside the boat! We also got to tie-dye a shirt with lots of bright colors. The lake was freezing cold but some of us still got in the water. We had such a fun time!

Angel Tree Service Project at Target in Winter Garden

We have a very caring service project called Angel Tree. With the Angel tree project we gather wish lists from a few kids in need. Our troop likes to meet up and shop for these children together. This year we bought Squishmallows from the Winter Garden Target Supercenter. We also bought the kids pajamas, shirts, and pants. It is fun to help others and shop with friends.

Troop 2059 on bridging day. We became Junior Girl Scouts!

Bridging is an important Girl Scout tradition and ceremony that celebrates Girl Scouts making it to the next rank. It is special because it only happens every two years. In this photo we have bridged from Girl Scout Brownies to Girl Scout Juniors. This is one of the most important ceremonies in Girl Scouts.

Troop 2059 roasting marshmallows on our Fall camping trip at Disney’s Fort Wilderness campgrounds.

This past fall we went camping at Disney’s Fort Wilderness campgrounds and we got to do a lot of fun activities like swimming, hiking, making snacks and s’mores, and going to the Chip and Dale campfire singalong. We slept in tents at our camp site and since it was close to Halloween we decorated the site with fun and spooky decorations.

My promise, my faith pin on a Junior Girl Scout vest

The Girl Scout promise and law is very important to the troop, in fact we say both at the beginning of every meeting and ceremony. The promise says, “On my honor, I will try to serve God and my country, to help people at all times, and to live by the Girl Scout Law.” The Girl Scout Law is something we aim to follow every day. Each year we do a my promise, my faith interview with someone from our faith to earn the my promise, my faith pin. The pin gets put on the front of our vest because we are very proud of earning this pin.
